6) Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has been awarded a contract by Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) to supply 12 steam generators for indigenously developed 700 MWe pressurised heavy water reactors (PHWRs) to be constructed at four locations in the country. 7) Uttar Pradesh reported two cases of Kappa variant of COVID-19. At King George's Medical College, a Genome Sequencing of 109 samples was conducted which confirmed presence of 107 cases of Delta Plus variant and two cases of Kappa. 14) All BRICS countries have agreed to the STI-led BRICS Innovation Cooperation Action Plan (2021-24) proposed by India during the 12th meeting of the BRICS S&T Steering Committee.
