1) The Andhra Pradesh government came out with the new 'AP Information Technology Policy 2021-24' that is expected to generate more than 55,000 jobs over the next three years.

➨The State Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, approved the new policy, which is also expected to create 1.65 lakh indirect employment thereby ensuring a holistic eco system development.

2) The first lot of 12 units of 10m Short Span Bridging System (SSBS) designed and developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has been inducted into the Indian Army.

➨ The bridges were inducted into the force by Army Chief General M.M. Naravane during a ceremony held at the Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi Cantonment.

3) Black carbon (BC), a form of particulate matter that results from carbon emissions, was most associated with premature mortality, according to a study that tracked mortality rates from different classes of air pollutants in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

4) HDFC Bank announced SalaamDilSey initiative to pay tribute to doctors

5) The Ministry of Youth affairs & Sports has decided to grant recognition to WAKO India Kickboxing Federation as National Sports Federation (NSF) for promotion and development of the Kickboxing sport in India.

➨WAKO India Kickboxing Federation is affiliated to World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO), which is the International Federation for the sport of Kickboxing.

6) Superstar athlete Deepika Kumari completed a hat-trick of gold medals at the Archery World Cup Stage 3 in Paris after winning the women’s individual recurve event.

➠Deepika Kumari beat Elena Osipova of Russia 6-0 in the final to clinch her third gold medal at the tournament. Deepika has also won the top prize in the mixed team and women's individual recurve events.

7) Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced some fresh relief measures for the economy, the first such package after the second COVID-19 wave.

➨The government pegged the total financial implications of the package, which included the reiteration of some steps that were already announced such as the provision of food grains to the poor till November and higher fertiliser subsidies, at ₹6,28,993 crore.

8) Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech has just published the trial data for its COVID-19 vaccine, Covaxin, which claims the India-made vaccine to be 77.8% effective against the coronavirus.

➨The vaccine was found to have 93% efficacy against severe cases of COVID-19 and 63% efficacy against asymptomatic transmission.

9) Former international footballer M Prasannan passed away in Mumbai. He was 73. A gifted midfielder of the 1970s, he shared the dressing room with stalwarts of Indian football like Inder Singh and Doraiswamy Natraj. He played for Kerala, Maharashtra and Goa in Santosh Trophy National Football Championship.

10) Indian Navy's Hydrographic Survey Ship INS Sarvekshak successfully completed survey action around the site of ill-fated MV X-Press Pearl on July 2 and handed over the survey data to the Sri Lankan authorities.

11) A total of 130 countries have agreed to an overhaul of global tax norms to ensure that multinationals pay taxes wherever they operate and at a minimum 15% rate.

➨India too has backed the OECD/G20 inclusive framework tax deal. India is in favour of a consensus solution that is simple to implement and simple to comply.

12) Vigilance Commissioner Suresh N. Patel will act as the Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) in the Central Vigilance Commission.

➨ The appointment was necessitated after Sanjay Kothari completed his term as the chief of the probity watchdog on June 23.

➨Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) is an apex Indian governmental body created in 1964 to address governmental corruption.

13) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will go to Gujarat today to inaugurate a Zen Garden and Kaizen Academy at Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA), Ahmedabad.

➨This is yet another instance showcasing the close bond between India and Japan.

14) The Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises on Friday launched six Technology Innovation Platforms that will focus on development of technologies for the globally competitive manufacturing in India.
